The City of Mt. Shasta Building Department enforces the minimum requirements to safeguard the public health, safety, and general welfare. The department regulates the design, construction, materials, and other factors in the construction, renovation and improvements to buildings and structures.
The department issues permits, performs plan checks and inspections for building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical permits. Building works closely with Planning, Public Works, Fire, Police, and Finance Departments to offer the best care and service. Our permit process helps to ensure the safety of the general public and tenant occupants within the City.
