Officer Marc St. Clair joined the Mount Shasta Police Department in 2025. He was raised in Fremont, CA. After graduating from high school, Officer St. Clair enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1989 as a Forward Observer Artillery Spotter. His duty stations consisted of Treasure Island, Alameda Naval Air Station, and Camp Lejeune, NC. In 1991, Officer St. Clair was deployed overseas in support of Operation Desert Storm.

Officer St. Clair began his law enforcement career with the Fremont Police Department in 1998. In 2002, he relocated to Shasta County and was laterally transferred to the sheriff’s office as a resident deputy in Burney, CA. While employed at the sheriff’s office, Officer St. Clair worked several collateral assignments such as Field Training Officer, Custody Emergency Response Team, Detective, and Bomb Squad. Officer St. Clair retired from the sheriff’s office as a sergeant in 2022.

After retiring, Officer St. Clair felt compelled to continue serving his community and currently works at the Burney Fire Protection District as both a firefighter and EMT. Officer St. Clair enjoys spending his time off with outdoor activities, such as camping with his family and dirt bike riding.
